The same route can look very different when the air gets cold. The nose runs, breathing seems less pleasant and you hesitate between keeping a neck strap on your face or lowering it. A nasal strip can support your nasal comfort while running in winter, provided you understand what it provides and prepare its application correctly.
Variations in temperature and humidity can irritate the inside of the nose. For some people, this results in discharge or a feeling of obstruction, even without a cold. Moving from a heated interior to outdoor air sometimes makes this difference particularly noticeable.
Not all genes are alike. A runny nose is not exactly the same thing as a nasal opening that seems narrow. Before choosing an accessory, observe what bothers you: the need to blow your nose, the contact of the fabric on the face or the sensation of the passage of air.
This distinction allows us to expect concrete benefits from the nasal strip, without attributing to it the role of equipment against the cold. It acts on the external opening of the nose, not on the temperature of the air you breathe.
An external adhesive nasal strip gently lifts the sides of the nose during wear. If you already appreciate this effect during your usual outings, you can integrate it into your winter equipment. The gesture remains discreet and does not require any device in the nostrils.
On an easy jog, look for flexible breathing, adapted to your pace. Do not force nasal breathing only when you need to use your mouth, especially on hills. Respiratory comfort is also built by adjusting the speed, especially at the start.
The BreathersBliss Intense strips can be tried in this logic of sporting comfort. They do not exempt you from consulting in the event of coughing, wheezing or unusual shortness of breath in the cold.

Discover BreathersBliss IntenseWinter easily makes you want to prepare everything at the last moment, gloves already on. Do the opposite for the nasal strip: place it inside, with clean hands, on a cleaned and perfectly dry nose. Keep cream or oil out of bonding area before application.
Position the nasal strip according to the guide, squeeze its ends and check that it does not pinch the nose. You must find a comfortable feeling at rest, before judging the result while running. Application to a damp face or one already exposed to cold is more difficult to control.
Gently raise and then lower your neck strap to check that it does not rub the edges of the nose strip. Also try your glasses if you wear them. The goal is a set that remains simple to adjust, without having to touch the nose strip at each change of pace.
Start gradually, at a pace that allows you to feel comfortable. The first few minutes are for getting into your session, not for immediately reproducing your speed of a smooth day. Choose a route adapted to the condition of the ground, with the possibility of shortening if conditions deteriorate.
While out, keep a tissue accessible if your nose runs. Dab rather than harshly rubbing the adhesive area. A very wet neck or repeated handling can make the adhesion less regular; better to remove an annoying accessory than to spend the entire session repositioning it.
When you return, remove the nasal strip gently and dry your face without excessive friction. Observe your skin comfort before planning a new use. The feeling of warm skin after the cold is not a reason to immediately apply a second nasal strip.
The first is to treat any discomfort such as a lack of opening of the nose. The second is to run faster to “warm up” when breathing is already becoming difficult. The third is to multiply layers or accessories without testing their interaction.
Instead, build a simple configuration: suitable grip, progressive pace, comfortable face and correctly placed nose strip if it benefits you. During a test ride, change just one item at a time to find out what really works for you.
Finally, keep your supply of nasal strips dry in its packaging. A nasal strip carried loosely in a wet bag is not good preparation for the next session.
No. Its action is mechanical on the entrance to the nose. It is neither a filter nor thermal protection, and does not replace equipment adapted to the conditions.
Yes, if the fabric does not compress the nose and does not rub the edges. Test the set before running and adjust if humidity or movement becomes bothersome.
The nasal strip does not stop secretions. Keep a tissue accessible and avoid rubbing the adhesive. If symptoms are persistent or severe, seek professional advice.
An application inside, on clean and dry skin, is easier to carry out carefully. Prepare it before you put on your gloves and start sweating.
Yes. You don't have to lock your breathing into just one mode. Adapt it to your effort and slow down if you feel in difficulty.
Intense is designed for sport and reinforced grip. The application and your equipment remain decisive: validate the combination on a short run before a long outing.
Winter invites you to be more attentive to your sensations, not to complicate each session. Well placed and well integrated into your grip, the nose strip can become a familiar detail of your outings, providing comfort that you yourself have verified.
