BreathersBliss Lab · Practical guide

Nasal strips support the sides of the nose to make nasal breathing feel more comfortable on the football pitch. BreathersBliss Intense fits naturally into a pre-match kit routine: external, drug-free strips with reinforced adhesion designed for sport. Start in training, learn the fit and take a familiar setup into match day.

At a glance

Look for a comfortable strip that does not distract you. Prepare the skin, test normal football movements and check your competition’s equipment requirements before playing.

01

What is the point of the strip on a footballer’s nose?

An external strip gently supports the sides of the nose. A player may seek a less restricted nasal feeling during warm-up or quieter phases of play.

Football alternates walking, running, changes of direction and short intense efforts. Allow breathing to follow the effort; wearing a strip is not a reason to keep your mouth closed during a sprint. Our guide to nasal strip research in sport separates comfort from measured performance.

02

Use an ordinary session as the first test

Pick a familiar training session without changing several other habits at once. Apply before warming up, then check how the setup feels after movement drills and ball work.

  • At the start: even placement, clear nostril openings and no uncomfortable pulling.
  • After warm-up: edges still in contact with the skin.
  • During drills: no repeated need to touch or adjust the nose.
  • After removal: comfortable skin without persistent irritation.

Repeat this check over a few ordinary sessions. The aim is a preparation you can reproduce without fuss: familiar placement, comfortable movement and fewer last-minute adjustments before kick-off.

03

Prepare before the warm-up gets sweaty

Take a quiet moment in the changing room to clean gently and dry the contact area fully. Starting on damp skin makes it harder to assess adhesion fairly. Use the placement guide to find the right height, without covering the nostrils.

The BreathersBliss directions include pressing the ends for 30 seconds. Avoid touching the adhesive face. Completely dry skin and careful placement are the practical checkpoints before you head out to warm up.

Also notice how you wipe your face with your shirt. That movement can catch an edge. At a safe break in play, dab around the strip instead of dragging fabric across it.

04

Rain, half-time and a lifting edge

Keep a protected spare strip and a clean towel in your kit bag. Check both ends before play and avoid dragging your shirt across the nose when wiping sweat. Weather, sweat and contact influence hold, so learn your setup during training.

If an edge lifts, wait for a stoppage and a safe moment to deal with it. A half-time replacement needs clean, dry, intact skin and a fresh strip. Do not reapply a used one or reinforce it with extra glue.

Check the accessory with team staff and officials under your competition’s equipment requirements. It supports nasal comfort, not protection from impact. Pain following a collision needs appropriate assessment.

05

Why choose BreathersBliss Intense for football?

BreathersBliss Intense nasal strips bring three useful features to a football kit bag: an external format, reinforced adhesion designed for exercise and 30 single-use strips in a pouch. There is nothing to insert into the nostrils and no medicine to apply.

The black finish is easy to pair with your training kit. Start with an Intense pouch to establish a routine, then explore the formats below if strips become part of your regular preparation. The Trio Pack offers a choice of colours; the 6-Month Pack lets you group your purchases.

For persistent lifting edges, use our sports adhesion guide to check preparation before changing your placement. Choose your format, apply before warm-up and make nasal comfort part of a routine you know. Comfort is not a promise of better match performance.

Frequently asked questions

Why do footballers wear nose strips?

External support at the sides of the nose can make nasal breathing feel more comfortable. Players may include it in their preparation as a comfort accessory, not a guaranteed performance aid.

Should I put it on before warming up?

Apply before you start sweating, on clean and fully dry skin, following your product instructions.

Will it last the full match?

Apply before sweating and minimise rubbing to support hold. Skin, weather and contact still affect wear, so trial it in training before relying on a match-day routine.

Can I change it at half-time?

Only if you can prepare clean, dry, unirritated skin. Use a new strip rather than reapplying one that has come off.

Is it allowed in my league?

Check the competition requirements with team staff and officials. This guide is not product approval.

Which BreathersBliss strip is suited to football?

Intense is designed for sport with reinforced adhesion. The black pouch contains 30 single-use strips, a practical starting format for a training routine.
